Student Code of Conduct

To ensure a safe, respectful and professional learning environment, AppleTree Professional Training has a code conduct that all students must abide by in order to participate in AppleTree training programs.  AppleTree is committed to providing comprehensive educational opportunities that support economic development and are relevant and responsive to the needs of its clients and the community.

 

Admission Policy

Application for admission to any class must be made in writing and delivered to the administrator directly. This can be accomplished via fax, email, online, direct mail or phone. All students are admitted when both registration and payment have been received.

 

Course Registration and Course Payment

Each live course has a limited number of available seats. Only those students who pre-apply for a course are ensured a seat in class. Students who register for a course but do not submit payment at the time of registration ARE NOT ensured placement in the course.  Students who have not pre-paid must pay before the class begins or may not be allowed any credit hours for the course.

 

Attendance Policies

  • All courses offered are monitored for attendance.
  • Students are required to sign in and the instructor or an assisting class monitor is required to initial and note time to sign the student out of any given class.  Students are expected to be signed in and ready by the course start time.
  • Tardiness at the start of may result in a rescheduling of the course.  Students may not be absent more than five minutes after a scheduled break.
  • Any student entering class more than 15 minutes late will be asked to repeat the course or make arrangements to complete the course. Should any student leave the class prior to its completion, the student will not receive credit for the class until the course has been satisfactorily completed. Students may request that they be allowed to attend a future class to receive full credit, provided they are present for the entire session.
  • Students who miss any portion of a class for any reason must arrange with the instructor or school administrator to complete the class time requirement. No credit will be provided to students who have not completed the time requirement.

 

Grading Policy:

  • English language presentation

All course materials, lectures, quizzes and exams are presented in the English language.   As such, all required responses, written or oral, will also be in the English Language.  Accommodations for translation services may be allowed upon approval of the instructor.

 

  • Participation and Scoring

In order to receive credit for the course, participants must complete 100% of the course activities with satisfactory responses and spend the required minimum time in the class.  Course activities are comprised of discussions, readings, end of module quizzes. End of module quizzes must be passed with a minimum score of 70%. You may retake the quizzes as many times as needed.  The final exam must be passed with a minimum score of 70%.  The final exam can be retaken up to 4 times before a new course is required.  All quizzes and exams require group participation and are open book.

Satisfactory Course Completion

  • At the conclusion of a course, all students will have demonstrated a grasp and understanding of course material. For courses with a final exam, a minimum of 70% score is required for a passing score. Depending on the class, participation in and responses to synchronous and asynchronous activities, individual and/or group exercises, written assignments, presentations etc. may be included in the evaluation of satisfactory course completion. Course evaluation is defined during course design and clearly represented in the course syllabus.
  • Test questions are determined by course content and learning objectives and reviewed with during course approval.
  • Upon completing the course all students will receive a course completion certificate and education credit hours.

End of Course Evaluation

At the end of each class, each student is provided with a course evaluation form. The evaluation provides separate questions for the evaluation of the instructor and course. In addition, questions are provided to meet NMLS evaluation requirements.

 

General Student Conduct Policies

  • Professional Behavior and Equality

Please be courteous and respectful to your instructor and classmates.  All students are welcome regardless of gender, ethnicity, religion or sexual orientation.  Students participating in the class are expected to reasonably behave in a professional and respectful manner towards the instructor and each other.

 

  • Right of removal and dismissal

Instructors reserve the right to remove students for unreasonable behavior to include intolerance towards other students or disturbances during the course.  Students who do not comply with this policy will be asked to leave as well as forfeit their tuition.  No certificate will be issued for students in this situation.  Students who are asked to leave or are removed may not be allowed to return to any other Appletree courses.

 

  • Causes for dismissal and removal

Dismissal or removal from the class will occur if the class participant is:

  1. Abusive, verbally and physically
  2. Obstructive to anyone attending or teaching the class.
  3. Consumption of intoxicants during class, the
  4. Appearance of being intoxicated and or under the influence/consumption of intoxicants before or during class.

 

  • Re-Entry

Any person dismissed from class for any of these reasons will not be allowed to re-enter that specific class, but may sign up for a future class, at the approval and discretion of the School Administrator.  Re-Entry is not guaranteed.

 

  • Cellphone Usage.

Students may keep their cellphones, but may not talk on their cellphones during the lectures, quizzes or exams.

REFUND POLICY

All purchases for the course and course materials are final.  There are no refunds.

The only exception will be if a class is cancelled by AppleTree Professional Training with no intent of re-offering the course.  Only then will a refund be provided.

 

POLICY SUBJECT TO CHANGE AT ANY TIME
